Video Poker Tips

Video poker is a game of skill as well as
luck. The video poker machines are
programmed to pay-out up to 100%
when players play at the expert level.

Play only machines that offer full
payback.  If the machine payback is not
posted then look at the chart on the
machine and pick out one that pays the
most for a full house and a flush. The
greater the return then the higher that
machine pays-out.

The
payout table on a video poker
machine tells a player exactly how much
each winning combination of cards pays.
The tables are posted on the top of the
machine or directly on the video screen.
The true odds of any video poker
machine are fixed. Casinos can only get
an edge with house odds.

The average payout for a video poker
machine is between 90 and 100+
percent if proper strategy is used.

The
maximum number of coins is also
shown (normally five coins)  Always play
the maximum number of coins in order
to be eligible for the bonus payout for a
royal flush.

Make sure the machine has accepted all
of your coins before playing.  If you do get
a big win you want to be absolutely sure
the five coins were all played.
How To Play Video Poker
The object of video poker is to get a winning combination of poker hands.
Each hand has a different payback, which is given by a payout table in
the game

Deposit coins into the machine to place your bet.
The bet must be placed before you draw your cards, and can't be changed
once play starts.

After your bet,  click the button marked "Draw/Deal", this will allow you to
see your initial hand of five cards.

Decide which cards you wish to keep by clicking the appropriate HOLD
button. If you change your mind and don't wish to keep a previously held
card click the "Hold/Cancel" button a second time and the hold will be
canceled. Make sure that there is confirmation on the screen that you have
held the cards that you want to keep (the word "hold" flashes under your
held cards).

Click the Draw/Deal button a second time to obtain new cards for those not
held. The "held" cards will remain and  the others will be replaced with new
cards. This new set of cards represents your final hand.

If you have a winning hand the machine pays off and is ready for another
game.

With video poker your
goal is not to beat a fellow player as in a live game of
poker, rather your goal is to win by holding one of the five-card winning
